LaDonna’s Story
Hebrews 6:19: My anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat of God.
My name is LaDonna Cook, and my son Elliott graduated from the Faith Home in 2016. When he came to the Faith Home Ministry, I started coming to the Lighthouse Freedom Center church to support him, and my life was forever changed.
Before coming to the Lighthouse, and before knowing Who Jesus is, I had no hope. I only existed from one day to the next; most days, from one hour to the next. My whole life was in such a confused state. All I did was run from one drama to the next, trying only to survive. Taking this pill and that pill, smoking pot every day, smoking cigarettes, extreme eating disorders, and daily suicidal thoughts; I felt like such a total failure in so many areas.
But, oh Jesus!!! I found Him at the Lighthouse, and HE was always loving me, just waiting for me with open arms. I have gotten to watch the mighty and powerful things He is doing in my life and in my son Elliott’s life. I have grown so much closer to my daughter, Emillee. And I won’t even get into the blessings of my three grandbabies, Ava, Jaxson and Jude!
I am now the Head Greeter at the Lighthouse Freedom Center; I love being able to lovingly greet everyone that comes on these holy grounds, and invite them into the same place where Jesus set me free! But mostly, I am anchored. Storms still come, but for once in my life, I am not alone. Jesus stands beside me with His loving arms wrapped tightly around me.
My Lighthouse…my home…and my family!
